if hell were a place on earth
it is her bed.
leacherous old men, curious adolescents and belching drunks
become the animals they were born to be
on her bed.
the day breaks and the sunlight
reveals
what nights darkness hid -
a broken soul in a usurped body
with eyes that had lost every glimmer of hope.
